The picture is of our cat Emmit - we also have a dog named Abe - sorry I couldn't get the two pictures to work. Abe is a 12.5 year old dog - he is half coon hound and half black lab. We got him a long time ago when I was getting out of the hospital. He was just a puppy then. Abe was a rescue dog and was roughly 6 weeks old. He is much older now. He has trouble jumping into bed with us at night - his back legs aren't working that great anymore. He also has a bunch of big lumps all over his body - they don't hurt him, they just look kind of scary. I'm afraid his days are numbered. We are going to have a vet come out to our house when its Abe's last days and put him down. We are not looking forward to that but everyone has their time.

Lets talk about our cat.

One day our daughter Jordyn brought a cat home and suddenly we had another pet. Emmit was also new born and was pretty small. He lived in our basement with Jordyn until she moved upstairs. Emmit is now our family cat and lives upstairs full time. He is very playful and likes to tease with his biting. Don't tell Abe, but I think I like the cat more than the dog. Emmit climbs everywhere in our house. I sometimes pick him up and carry him around. I'm not sure if he likes this or not, but he pretends well.

My daughter Jordyn is kind a master of animals. Lets just say she knows how to get along with any animal or pet. She is going to school for Environmental Sciences. I think this will be a good fit for her. She didn't want to become a vet because she didn't want to put down any animals. I think that makes sense. She spoils our animals with treats and special food. I guess that keeps them happy.
